Monthly tuition is due the first lesson of each month.

Make-up Lessons

Students must notify Marblehead Piano Studio of a lesson cancellation a minimum of 24 hours prior to lesson time. If at least 24 hours notice is given, then a make-up lesson will be scheduled at the earliest possible date. No refunds will be given for lessons missed without 24 hours notice. Exceptions are serious illness or emergency in the family.

There will be no refund for forgotten lessons.

Lessons during school vacation and holidays

I continue teaching during school vacation. If a student wishes to take a break from piano during school vacation, I request that the parents let me know in advance that their child will not attend the lesson(s). Lessons missed during school vacation without such notice will be considered forgotten and the tuition will not be refunded.

I do not give lessons between December 25th-January 1st and on the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Thanksgiving. If a student wishes not to attend a lesson on any other holiday, I ask to notify me in advance.

Discontinuation of lessons

Students wishing to discontinue lessons should give two weeks notice. If lessons are terminated in the middle of a month, the remainder of that month's tuition will not be refunded.

Music Books and Supplies

During the semester students will be supplied with music and materials as needed. I will be happy to lend the books from the Studio library to my students as long as I have an additional copy of the book available. If I do not have an extra copy of the required book, I will ask the studentē—“ parents to purchase the book.

Recitals

There will be two recitals per year - one in December and one in June. Participation in recitals is completely optional, but strongly encouraged. Families and friends are invited to attend.

Practice Time

I recommend allocating uninterrupted practice time daily. I expect my students to come to the lessons prepared and ready to learn new material. During home practice the students are required to do their homework following written and spoken instructions that I gave them at the previous lesson. The study of music is rewarding and enjoyable, but it is also work! I need parents' help to motivate and support students, and to make music study a productive experience.

If you have any questions or concerns, I will be happy to discuss them with you.
